Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a landlocked alpine country of roughly 7.6 million people in Western Europe. Switzerland is a federal republic consisting of 26 states called cantons, 6 of which are only half-cantons because of historic reasons. Berne is the seat of the federal authorities, while the country's economic centers are its two global cities, Geneva and especially Zürich. Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world. Zurich and Geneva have respectively been ranked as having the first and second highest quality of life in the world. Switzerland is bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and Liechtenstein. Through our short-term programs you can spend summer or winter abroad. We offer programs at long as 6 weeks and as short as 2. You can earn 3, 6, or 9 hours in many business, liberal arts, and applied sciences courses.
The advantages of a Faculty-Led Program are that you can take 3 hours of credit in 3 weeks or 6 hours in 4 weeks while visiting a new country. Because courses are offered during winter and summer terms, you won’t miss any semester requirements – plus, spending time with a professor abroad may help you garner a good recommendation for graduate school or a job. Wintersession courses will be posted in September.
We also offer short-term programs through our partners listed above.
