
Advanced Filmmaking Workshop at Ole Miss

THE SCRIPT
The four-day workshop is a one of a kind opportunity for high school students (freshman through seniors), college students, teachers, and all adults interested in filmmaking. The participants will be shown a variety of films that will showcase the elements of filmmaking discussed and applied throughout the course. Students of the workshop will be introduced to all aspects of the filmmaking process as they write and produce their own short film during the four-day class. From sound design to lighting, from camera operation to story-boards, the class will gain valuable practical experience in the art of filmmaking.
THE AUDIENCE
Registration is open to anyone (high school to adult) who is already equipped with a basic understanding of filmmaking and is ideal for those who have previously completed the Ole Miss "introductory level" Filmmaking Workshop.

THE SHOOT
The workshop will be held at the Historical Oxford Depot adjacent to the University in Oxford and behind the Gertrude Castellow Ford Performing Arts Center on University Avenue.The Depot is a short walk from the Inn at Ole Miss. Participants will receive a detailedschedule and map of the area at registration.
THE WINDOW
The dates of the Advanced Filmmaking workshop are July 13-16, 2009. Pre-registration is required. The deadline to to register is July 10. There will be an additional charge of $25.00 for registrations after this date. Class size will be limited to 20 so register early to ensure you get a seat.
THE BUDGET
Residential—Dormitory: $425, includes dormitory housing, costs, workshop, manual, meals
Residential—Hotel: $625, includes room at the Inn at Ole Miss, workshop, manual, meals
Commuter: $325, includes only the workshop and manual
