In the U.S., Amazon is investing $1.2 billion to upskill more than 300,000 employees by 2025 to help move them into higher-paying, in-demand jobs.

Through Amazon’s Career Choice, eligible Amazon employees who have been employed with the company for 90 days or more may take advantage of pre-paid college tuition while completing coursework with the University of Mississippi.

The University of Mississippi is proud to be a member of the Amazon educational partner network to assist North Mississippi and Memphis area employees as you look to further your education while continuing to maintain work, family, and community commitments.

The Oesterling Non-Mississippi resident out-of-state scholarships are available at the UM-DeSoto campus for Memphis area employees who may live in Tennessee or Arkansas, but would like to attend the Ole Miss campus in Southaven.

The University of Mississippi-DeSoto campus along with the Oxford campus and Ole Miss Online, can offer Amazon employees the opportunity to pursue their degree in a flexible format and timeframe.

Complete your bachelor’s degrees or English proficiency certificate in more than 90 different fields with some programs offered on the DeSoto, Oxford, or online campus.

Get Started

  1. Contact a University of Mississippi advisor to review your enrollment status, or speak to a financial aid advisor by calling 662-342-4765.
  2. Apply for admission to the University of Mississippi. Complete the online application for undergraduate admission.
    1. Please indicate if you are interested in the DeSoto campus, Oxford campus, or Online campus.
    2. Please include your Employment History with Amazon as you complete the UM admissions application.
  3. Request Payment from Amazon Career Choice
    1. Visit the Amazon Career Choice website and submit a payment request for your chosen school and program.
    2. The request will be sent to the school to confirm course level details, and either approve or deny the request.
    3. If approved, Amazon will pay the school directly.
  4. Register for classes with UM through the MyOleMiss online system. Speak with an academic advisor or Admissions Counselor if you need assistance.

Job Placement Resources

The University of Mississippi and Amazon support Career Choice graduates in finding employment upon graduation. Career Services can range from resume writing assistance, interview prep, and sharing job postings for different majors. Amazon hosts a dedicated job board for hiring partners who would like to post vacancies.
