Admission Criteria

This co-hort program is intended for 11th- and 12th-grade students. Selection is highly competitive and placements are limited. Applications are due April 1, 2024, but prospective students are encouraged to apply early.

Preferential consideration will be given to students who meet any of the following criteria. This doesn’t mean you must meet these criteria – simply that students who do are more likely to be selected:

  • Mississippi residents, especially residents of Delta counties or other high-priority areas for teacher recruitment
  • Students interested in teaching special education or STEM
  • Students currently enrolled in Teacher Academies
  • Students with the potential to be the first in their families to complete a four-year degree

Scholarships are available for students on the basis of merit, financial need, home county, and status as a first-generation college student. If you are concerned that cost could be a barrier for you, please reach out to us at schs@olemiss.edu to learn more.

Application Process

Step 1. Fill out an inquiry form.
Please use a personal email account, not a school affiliated email address, as most servers block external emails.

Allow 3 business days to receive your account set-up email invitation.

Registration Closed

Step 2. Finish setting up your account.
You will receive an email from umprecollege@myschoolapp.com with steps to create your Admissions Portal through our Blackbaud MySchoolApp system. From there, you can immediately view your admissions checklist.

Step 3. Complete your application and checklist items.
Our admissions team will have assigned your program’s checklist for you to complete before the program deadline.

The application will include standard questions (e.g., contact information, academic history, current GPA, etc.) as well as instructions to complete the UM Undergraduate application.

You will need to submit a current official transcript and school approval to determine admissibility to the program. To avoid admission delays, we recommend uploading these two documents within 5 days of creating an account.

Step 4. Await admission results, and complete pre-arrival checklist.
We will notify admissions between 2-4 weeks after all checklist steps are complete. After admission, you can complete your pre-arrival documentation.
