Travel Overview

Go beyond textbooks and lecture halls. Study USA’s travel courses combine academic learning with hands-on, real world experiences. Every class maximizes its unique location with immersive activities.

You’ll earn academic credit, apply what you’re learning directly to your surroundings, and engage in lively class experiences—all guided by Ole Miss faculty.

What You'll Learn

  • Explore hotel operations and learn how the various lodging components contribute to the overall resort experience.
  • Examine how gaming, food and beverage, entertainment, and hotel operations of a casino interconnect to maximize revenues and surpass guest expectations.
  • Identify legal, social, and ethical considerations affecting hospitality organizations as they relate to the global community.

What You'll Do

  • Tour and compare the operations of top casinos like The Venetian and Palazzo, The Cosmopolitan, and Mirage to gain insight into their unique approaches.
  • Experience and evaluate dining at renowned restaurants, including Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen, Milo’s, and Hong Kong Café, while learning about the complexities of large-scale food service operations.
  • Meet and interact with industry leaders to understand the professionalism and prestige the Las Vegas hotel industry holds on a global scale.

All activities are tentative and subject to change depending on scheduling, booking availability, and course adjustments.
