Step into the kitchen for a week of cooking, baking, and exploring the delicious world of local produce! Learn essential food safety, master cooking techniques, and unleash your creativity by crafting your own recipes.
Visit local markets and gardens to meet farmers and nutritionists, discovering the perks of eating fresh and seasonal foods. The grand finale? A mouthwatering luncheon prepared by the Rebel Chefs—just for parents and guardians!

1. Create an Account
Use a personal (non-school) email to register. Within 3 business days, you'll receive an email from umprecollege@myschoolapp.com with instructions to set up an account in our Admissions Portal.
Create Account2. Pay to Secure Spot
Once in the Admissions Portal, follow the steps for payment to confirm your student’s place.
3. Complete Registration Checklist
In the Admissions Portal, complete your assigned registration checklist within 14 days or by the program deadline. This includes contact info, academic history, agreements, and medical forms.
Each student must have their own MySchoolApp account. Parents and guardians with more than one student can manage all of their students' application checklists from a single Parent account.
Students entering 1st-5th grades DO NOT need to have their own MySchoolApp account.
After Registration
- Parents will receive an email with program details two weeks before the start date.
- All middle and high school SIPS require an online mandatory orientation. The email will include the date and link to the session.

Our system only allows one student registration per transaction.Complete one student’s registration, then start a new registration for the next student.
Before the program begins
You’ll receive a detailed pre-summer logistics email and a pre-arrival checklist on your MySchoolApp account.
Incomplete or Late Registrations
- After payment, please complete all steps within 2 weeks.
- Our team relies on this information to plan and schedule for the summer, so any registrations left incomplete or applications that are inactive after 3 weeks will incur a $20 late fee unless an extension is requested.
Refund Policy
- Cancel at least 2 weeks before the session for an 80% refund.
- Refunds are not available for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the camp.
- Full refunds will be issued if the camp is canceled due to low enrollment.
Dru Jones, a chef by trade, is the Food Specialist in the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management. Chef Jones completed his studies at Johnson and Wales University, earning an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts and a BS in Food Service Management.
Building upon a restaurant management and food service background that has spanned across the United States, his interests focus on sharing the science behind food preparation and cooking, streamlining processes, business operations, and hospitality financial systems while instilling great interest and drive in those learning nutrition and hospitality management

A Typical Day
Residential students
The day starts with breakfast, followed by morning sessions and lunch. Afternoon activities lead into work time, dinner, and evening free-time, including group projects. The night ends with counselor-led activities and room checks at 10:30 pm.
Commuter students
Check-in from 8:00-8:15 am, followed by morning programming, lunch, and afternoon activities. After work time, students are picked up by 5:00 pm at the designated drop-off.
A detailed schedule and more information will be provided before the program begins.

Move-In
Residential students will check into the residence hall on Sunday afternoon to receive their room assignment and a meal card for the week.
Kick-off Session
All students and parents must attend the Sunday evening session before the program begins. The program director and staff will review the schedule, guidelines, and key information.
The program director and summer staff will review the details of the week, important guidelines and rules of the program, and additional program information.
Move-Out
Residential students must check out by 2:30 pm on Friday (after class and final presentations). All students must complete the official check-out procedure before leaving.

Kick-Off Session
Sunday before the program begins
All students (including commuters) and their parents must attend the initial on-campus welcome session before the program begins.
At this time, the program director and staff will review the schedule, guidelines, and key information, and additional program information.
Daily Check-In/Out
Monday-Friday
Commuters will be dropped off and picked up at a designated campus location each day (Monday-Friday). Parents will check their student in with a summer counselor and provide a contact number for the day.
Final Day Presentations
Friday
You will receive details during the kick-off session regarding the possibility of a final demonstration or presentation on Friday.
