SIPs provide engaging learning experiences

led by expert teachers and faculty. These programs provide students with opportunities to explore new fields of interest in and beyond the classroom, while, at the same time, forging friendships with like-minded peers.

Why SIPs?

Summer Immersion Programs offer a small "sip" of something new—perfect for curious and motivated learners.

Core benefits for all students

Led by experienced teachers and faculty, these programs provide:

  • Academic Excellence – Engage in challenging courses that promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Project-Based Learning – Gain hands-on experience and develop real-world skills.
  • Leadership Development – Grow in confidence and leadership abilities.
  • Inclusive Community – Thrive in a welcoming environment that celebrates all backgrounds.
  • Empowerment & Growth – Build self-confidence and independence.

Choose between Residential or Commuter Options

For 7th-12th graders who want a more immersive experience, we offer a residential option where students can live on campus, interact with peers, and receive guidance from dedicated staff members.

Residential students can enjoy life on our beautiful campus, giving them a safe and supervised preview of college.

Alternatively, local students have the flexibility to commute and attend programs during the day, allowing them to benefit from the same enriching curriculum without needing overnight accommodation.

Registration Process

1. Create an Account

Use a personal (non-school) email to register. Within 3 business days, you'll receive an email from umprecollege@myschoolapp.com with instructions to set up an account in our Admissions Portal.

Create Account

2. Pay to Secure Spot

Once in the Admissions Portal, follow the steps for payment to confirm your student’s place.

3. Complete Registration Checklist

In the Admissions Portal, complete your assigned registration checklist within 14 days or by the program deadline. This includes contact info, academic history, agreements, and medical forms.

Each student must have their own MySchoolApp account. Parents and guardians with more than one student can manage all of their students' application checklists from a single Parent account.

Students entering 1st-5th grades DO NOT need to have their own MySchoolApp account.

After Registration

  • Parents will receive an email with program details two weeks before the start date.
  • All middle and high school SIPS require an online mandatory orientation. The email will include the date and link to the session.

Refund Policy

  • Cancel at least 2 weeks before the session for an 80% refund.
  • Refunds not available for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the camp.
  • Full refunds issued if the camp is canceled due to low enrollment.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Office of Pre-College Programs offers need-based scholarships and other financial aid. Scholarships are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply by the priority deadline (March 1) to increase your chances of receiving aid.

Supervision of Minors
The University of Mississippi and the Office of Pre-College Programs values the safety of all our students. All staff and counselors undergo thorough training and background checks before our summer programs. We have policies and guidelines in place to ensure the safety and supervision of all students.
