UM Online Testing

UM Online Testing office offers a variety of proctored exams.

Testing Policies and Procedures

Ole Miss Online (OMO) students must comply with all UM Proctored Testing Policies and DETLTesting Policies and Procedures for web-based or online courses. If an online or web-based course requires proctored assessments, then it is the responsibility of the individual taking the course to schedule proctored assessments.”

Schedule an Exam

If you are taking a UM online course that requires you to test at the UM Testing Center, you will sign up for your exams through RegisterBlast unless your instructor has communicated otherwise.

Information about online course test dates will be located in the online course materials. Students close to a UM campus are encouraged to schedule an appointment for a proctored exam at the Oxford or regional campuses.

If a student has a work or class conflict or lives outside of the area and cannot take the exam during the times available, online instructors at UM may allow students to use ProctorU, a web-based proctoring service, to take their proctored exams. Students are responsible for all ProctorU fees.  See your instructor's policy for ProctorU usage.

Scheduling an exam in the Distance Education Testing Lab is free for all UM students. However, students marked as “no-show” for a scheduled appointment will have to schedule a make-up exam, which has a fee of $20. Additionally, there is a $20 fee for late scheduling or rescheduling appointments for final exams after a certain date.* Students using ProctorU will incur fees for using this remote proctoring service.

*If you do not show up for your exam or reschedule your appointment at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment time, your appointment will be closed and the online appointment system will not allow you to reschedule.

Proctoring Services for a Non-UM Course

The UM Online Testing Office provides proctoring services for students who are taking tests for other universities. Our office houses computers and is monitored by video cameras. Our testing facility is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., during most weeks of the academic year. These services are not available during the weeks of midterm and final exams in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Additionally, the University of Mississippi is usually closed for two weeks at the end of December each year.

Sign up through our RegisterBlast link to utilize our proctoring services.*

Appointment requests for this service must be made at least three business days prior to desired test date.

*After you complete your test, we will send your testing information to your institution. Please provide a prepaid envelope for mailing if your institution does not provide for this.
