Dual Credit for High School Students

ConnectUM offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn both college and high school credits conveniently and affordably.

Students apply in winter of their sophomore or junior year, then take one course in fall and another in spring. Public school students can do so tuition-free through Mississippi’s Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit Scholarship program.

During your high school junior or senior year:

  • Gain experience with online college classes designed to support student success.
  • Earn both high school and college credit while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.
  • Enjoy access to a variety of UM resources, including our ConnectUM Success Coaches, the UM Writing Center, UM Math Tutoring.
  • Attend optional events online and in person throughout the year to foster personal growth, enhance college preparation, and encourage connection to the University of Mississippi’s staff and faculty.

After completing the program:

  • Accelerated admission to UM. Submit your high school transcript at the end of junior year, no undergraduate application needed. Be among the first to hear when acceptances start to roll out!
  • Opportunity to gain an additional 6 credit hours while living on campus in our Summer College Program following junior year at no or low cost, depending on academic and financial qualifications.
  • College credits that will remain on your UM transcript or transfer to another institution.
  • Attend the JumpStart program between senior year and freshman fall in order to earn additional credits and learn all about life on campus.

How to Apply to ConnectUM

Complete the ConnectUM Application.

Create account and complete your application checklist.

($100 non-refundable application fee*)

3.

Complete the UM Application.

4.

Submit your School Approval Form and High School Transcript.

5.

Complete your Dual Enrollment Scholarship application through the State website.

6.

Participate in our free online orientation.

(Required to maintain course registration.)

*If the application fee will cause undue hardship for your family, or you are unable to pay due to financial need, please have your school counselor complete the NACAC application fee waiver on your behalf.
